ABOUT US
Hey! We’re Sam & Chris
Travelling has always been a huge part of what we do. In our early 20s, we left the UK and flew to India with a one-way ticket. Eight months later, with only £200 to our names, 13 new fridge magnets and a solid tan, we came back to the UK and tried the ‘normal’ corporate life.
After seven years of saving up, we headed off again with another one-way ticket but to Sarajevo in 2022. And this time round we were travelling as vegetarians!
Now, we knew this was going to be a challenge (especially starting in the Balkans!), but we were going to give it a bloody good go.
We flew into Sarajevo and travelled overland from Bosnia & Herzegovina to Armenia. We flew to the Stans, Sri Lanka, South India, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and then on to South America.
So how have we fared as vegetarians on the road for over four years now?

We managed to find good vegetarian food in almost every single country we’ve visited!
We definitely found ourselves in some sticky (meaty) situations, but we managed to find good vegetarian food in almost every single country we’ve visited. Paraguay, Kyrgyzstan, and Bosnia & Herzegovina are by far the toughest we’ve experienced.
We have a strong love for Georgia. Before we had even visited, I (Sam) had had this dream of renting an old building with a balcony where we could sip coffee and eat breakfast in the mornings while overlooking the cobbled streets of the old town. Maybe on Sunday mornings, we’d be heading off for Georgian lessons before grabbing a lobiani on the way back home for lunch.
And I don’t know why but I just had this pull to a country I had no knowledge or experience of. And then we arrived into Georgia and we both fell in love with it. The people, the food, the relaxed way of life, the mountains, the cobbled streets, the WINE!
And instead of just exploring Georgia for a month or so, we stayed for six!
Then whenever we spent time away from Georgia, we yearned to come back.
Even being four months deep into travelling through South America, we switched up our plans and booked a flight from Bogota to Tbilisi, and then stayed there for another six months again! Georgia is magnetic!

And now we’re helping you on your vegetarian travels because you can’t just be eating chips and a salad!
Instead, plan your trip around good veg food.
We’ve got restaurant guides for cities and guides for entire cuisines with the best local veg food to look out for.
But obviously, you’re going to want to see the sights and have some adventure too, so we’ve got all the practical tips, things to do, transport guides, etc. too so that you can get the most out of your trip. Because even though we try really hard, you can’t always be eating!
