Sri Lanka

Dal curry, sambol, and roti, with a strong Sri Lankan coffee and some tiny bananas really is THE ultimate breakfast. Honestly, going to Sri Lanka to eat your body weight in the local food is good enough reason all by itself.

Sri Lanka is majestic and tropical and captivating and leaves us wanting to return every time we leave (which has been three times now!).

Known for its jungle, its grand rock formations, its friendly people, its idyllic beaches, and fascinating historical sites, Sri Lanka has so many things to see and do (and eat!) that the 30 day visa really doesn’t seem like long enough.

Lounge on the beaches of the south coast and the less-visited east coast, take in the panoramic views from Sigirya and Pidurangala Rocks, go on an elephant safari in Udawalawe, cycle round the ancient ruins of UNESCO Anuradhapura, visit the birthplace of Buddhism in Sri Lanka – Mihintale, wander through the tea plantations of Nuwara Eliya, stroll through the historical colonial streets of Galle, and try all the exotic fruit that you have never seen or heard of before.

So if all of the above has you thinking that Sri Lanka sounds like a bit of you, well, take a look at our blog posts for more of the detail for planning your trip.
